A Golden World

I’m a screw up. Try to keep that in mind.

Oilers in 5

Posted by Jeff on Saturday, 27 May, 2006

Last Wednesday, I made this post, stating the obvious that Edmonton was Canada’s last hope of bringing the Holy Grail home.

Peter, a dear friend, in a short but sweet effort to rile my feathers (well, if I was a bird) and take the piss, made this statement:

Ducks eliminate Oilers in 6 games.

To which I had this rebuttal:

I see the scars still run deep. Honestly, Detroit sorely needs a playoff goalie. Like Hasek or Vernon were. Oilers in 5.

Tonight, Edmonton beat Anaheim 2-1, to win the series 4 games to 1, which, surprise surprise, is five games, and Edmonton is now Western Conference Champions, headed for the final leg to win the Grail.

To Peter, I hope you did not wager any funds on the Western Conference Finals. You’ve got to fly out to Vancouver yet and enjoy some beers ;)

That is all.
