Well, to put it really bluntly, film work in Vancouver has FINALLY picked up here in ever sunny Vancouver. As such, I finally, FINALLY put in my two weeks notice in with Best Buy.

I would like to remind each and everyone of you that if you’re not down with that we got two words for ya!

Triple H

SUCK IT!

Mind you, there is one “debate” I had at the Big Blue Box that still remains open for me. Getting a screen credit in X-Men: The Last Stand, I took a bit of flak from certain Best Buy staffers who, being some form of comic book purists, believe that the third installment of the X-Men films is near blasphemous because it deviates so much from the story developed in the comics.

I, on the other hand, embrace alternate story lines. Especially in a story like X-Men, which incorporates a large ensemble of characters, it gives a solid opportunity to explore many facets of characters and relationships that haven’t directly been explored in the comics. Besides, on the adaptation sense of filmmaking, one of the drawbacks for me personally is that if I’m familiar with the story, such as Lord of the Rings, there’s no surprises. Mind you I was very happy with the visual adaptation of the books. Comics, however, with their serial nature, do lend themselves more accurately to alternate storylines. As such, I do support veering from the original storyline in the comics, so long as character is not sacraficed, to which I do not believe it was in the third X-Men film.

What do you think? Please feel free to use my comments to discuss such matters.

That is all.
