Just as a note to whatever film I will be working on in the winter of 2010

I am going to need about 16 days off as I will be spending a tremendous deal of that time here:

Ski Lift

Oops. I should have zoomed in. I meant here:

Cypress Mountain

Yes, Cypress Mountain, to watch a vast plethora of freestyle skiing. And no, I won’t be teaching Dawn to ski at then, but rather, watching freestyle skiing at this:

Vancouver Olympics

Well, to enjoy a rare day off, Dawn and I headed to Cypress today for a relaxing walk. For those of you not tuned into Vancouver, it has been one of our driest summers, and as such, it was disturbing to see some of the following today:

Former Pond

This “puddle” was a thriving pond last summer.

As well, some of the foliage is obviously far from healthy:

Turned Pine Needles

Turned Leaves

More Turned Leaves

When what we really like to see is this:

Healthy Pines

And to think we complain about all the rain we get in the winter. Though I do hope the forests get more rain to end out the year. The amount of fires we’ve had lately is unbearable.

That is all.
